Her second intention to divorce was announced last Sunday and follows just 18-months with French restaurateur JB, who she married within seven months of their first meeting.
The documents in question became publicly available last Wednesday but there is also the suggestion that they could have been held up in processing because of Cheryl's marital name was only registered with Companies House at the start of 2015.
Instead of reverting to her former identity Cheryl Tweedy following her first divorce, she changed her name straight to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

Cheryl hinted she was planning to take her husband's name shortly after their July 2014 nuptials when she dropped 'Cole' from her Twitter handle and redirected followers to a CherylOfficial account.
She again went on to identify as 'just Cheryl' in the same fashion as musicians Madonna, Cher and Kylie [Minogue] have succeeded in doing.
Correcting The Sunday People about her new moniker, she said just weeks after the wedding: 'It's just Cheryl because everyone seems to be having a hard time saying it.'
An official spokesperson confirmed at the time: 'Cheryl's full name is Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, professionally she will be Cheryl.'
Newcastle-born Cheryl was given her father Garry Tweedy's name at birth but her mother is called Joan Callaghan, which is the 56-year-old's maiden name.
