“Why I Am Unmarried” – DBanj Reveals.

Heavily achieved and multi-talented personality, DBanj, who we all know that since the beginning of his music career in 2005, has been linked with so many beautiful women, but never got to betroth any one of them.
Back in the days, the artiste had plans, that by 30, he’d settle down, but… we all know how the story goes now. *smiles*. The DB records CEO, in a new interview with Saturday Beats revealed why he abolished his early plans. He said:
“While growing up, there were some goals I set for myself and at 35; I have accomplished most of them. Sadly, I have not accomplished the primary goals. The main one is marriage. By now, I thought I would have been married. I had always thought I would have a child before the age of 30. That fantasy did not become a reality because I wanted to strengthen my brand. I wanted to be sure that I was on the right path career-wise because as a kid, you need to crawl before you can walk and eventually run. I wanted to be sure I surpass all boundaries and reach a certain stage where I can easily balance my work and family. That is the main reason why I am not married.”The singer also stated that he is proud of his other achievements as they have surpassed his widest imaginations,
The singer also stated that he is proud of his other achievements as they have surpassed his widest imaginations,
“Apart from marriage, one other thing I desire to have is the Grammy but that is already in the pipeline and it would be acquired soon. I didn’t know I would meet Kanye West while I was dreaming big as a child. But I dreamt that I would go places and people would hear my song all over the world. I also dreamt that Caucasians would dance to my music. I dreamt I would top music charts across the world and all that has happened. I have dreamt of performing in front of thousands of people on a global stage and I have achieved that. For all these I am grateful to God,”

This ‘Netflix and Chill’ themed apartment on Airbnb is as crazy as it sounds

Airbnb Netflix and Chill

We’ve seen quirkier Airbnb listings before, but a new ‘Netflix and Chill’ themed apartment in New York City might be the most interesting take on apartment rentals we’ve seen yet. What began as something of an art project has apparently turned into a bizarre money-making venture. And it can be all yours for just $400 a night.

DON’T MISS: Colbert brutally torches Trump until there’s nothing left but ashes
The appropriately named “Netflix and Chill” Airbnb room brings the famed meme to life and is everything you might expect. There’s a bed draped with a Netflix branded blanket and accompanied by, you guessed it, two Netflix branded pillows.
Refinery 29 adds:
The Netflix & Chill Room includes a bed with red Netflix-emblazoned sheets, a fully stocked mini-bar (Champagne, wine, rosé, vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, beer, and mixers), an HD projector featuring AppleTV and Netflix, surround sound, a big bathroom, and a view of the city. If you decide you’d rather stand on a roof and chill, they have that too.
According to Tom Galle, one of the brains behind the Netflix-themed Airbnb listing, the primary goal of the funky apartment isn’t to make money, but rather to create “a project that makes a mark and gets seen.”
Since the listing went live earlier this week, Mashable notes that one person has already reserved the room.
If you’re at all curious about the apartment, the full listing details can be read below.
The Space
The Netflix & Chill Airbnb Room is a project presented by ART404 + Tom Galle. With this project we bring the famous ‘Netflix & Chill meme’ to life and offer it as an IRL experience that people can rent for a night. ((URL HIDDEN) & @tomgalle)
The room is designed and equipped to experience ‘Netflix & Chill’ the best way possible.
Everything a couple needs to fully experience:
– The original Netflix and Chill Bed
– A fully stacked mini bar: Champagne, Wine, Rose, Rum, Vodka, Gin, Bourbon, Whiskey, Beer etc, soda and all kinds of juices to mix drinks.
– A HD projector connected with the new AppleTV and Netflix account, with remote controllers for both.
– Surround sound speakers around the bed.
– A beautiful view over the city, especially during sundown.
– Access to the rooftop with beautiful New York skyline view.
– Large bathroom with marble finish.
– Great location with a wide variety of restaurants close by, to visit or oder to the room.
Guest Access
ROOF ACCESS: You will have access to the roof with beautiful views of Manhattan both north and south of the neighborhood. The roof is completely finished and has a bench for enjoying a glass of wine or dinner. The roof is shared, but there are rarely other people up there.
Interaction with Guests
There can be as much or as little interaction as you’d like, aside from the essentials (checking in and out). We will be staying in an apartment just one floor above you, so we will be available whenever you have questions or concerns. If you would like more guidance in terms of getting to know the neighborhood or nyc, we are happy to give suggestions based on your interests (or go out with you based on the timing!)
The Neighborhood
Regardless of the time of year, people watching in West Village is always good. Washington Square Park is a 2 minute walk from the apartment, and there are many other small parks in walking distance. You can grab a bagel and coffee and hang out during the day, and at night there are so many cute places to check out. If you’re into a casual, no frills (but always packed) live jazz place, head to Fat Cat (5 minute walk). Poisson Rouge is also less than a 10 minute walk away, where there are many affordable live bands, performances, and parties almost every day. If you’re looking for something more fancy, there are tons of places – Annisa and Aldea are both within walking distance, and I can always share my nearby favs (Fish and Trattoria Pesce Pasta are always so good).

LASG to use tourism as tool to stimulate economy – Ambode

The Lagos State Government on Saturday said that it would utilise the opportunities in the tourism sector to boost its Internal revenue.
The Gov. of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, said this at the official inauguration of the redeveloped Apapa Amusement Park in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 40- year- old Amusement Park was shut down on March 17, 2012 by the state government for upgrading.
Ambode, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Arts and Culture, Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, said that the park was now opened to the public.
He said that there were plans to replicate such amusement parks in some other Local Government Areas of the State.
“Our plan is to see that we generate good income from the parks for Lagosians and visitors to enjoy themselves.
“ The park provides picture-perfect moments and memories that last a lifetime; also an ideal place for family fun,’’ he said.
Mr Folorunso Folarin-Coker, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture said the Apapa Amusement Park was the number one leisure spot in the city.
“The Park is the number one leisure spot for healthy family entertainment, recreation and relaxation in entire Lagos State.
“Families troop to this enclave to enjoy their free time with consequential bonding within the visiting household, “ he said.
Folarin-Coker said that Gov. Ambode’s led administration would also use sports and entertainment sectors to stimulate the economy of the state.
“This administration is ready to create enabling environment and platforms for partnership with interested private sector organizations
Earlier Mrs Olufunmilayo Balogun, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, commended Ambode for reopening the amusement park.
“ The park will help to reposition the face of tourism in the state,’’ she said.

Iheanacho hits hat-trick as Man City cruise in FA Cup

Arsenal remain on course for a third consecutive FA Cup success after Alexis Sanchez inspired Arsene Wenger’s side to a 2-1 fourth-round win over second-tier Burnley on Saturday.

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur also progressed, but West Bromwich Albion were taken to a replay by third-tier Peterborough United and Bournemouth had to come from behind to beat 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth.
Arsenal’s win at the Emirates Stadium preserved their hopes of becoming the first team to win three consecutive FA Cups since Blackburn Rovers, who achieved the feat between 1884 and 1886.
Making his first start after two months out with a hamstring injury, Chile star Sanchez teed up Calum Chambers to open the scoring in the 19th minute with a fine shot using the outside of his right foot.
kelechi iheanachoSam Vokes equalised for Burnley on the half hour with a powerful header, but Arsenal, who made nine changes, claimed victory in the 53rd minute when Sanchez slammed home after a neat team move.
Nigerian starlet Kelechi Iheanacho scored a hat-trick as City kept alive their dream of an unprecedented quadruple of trophies by easing to a 4-0 win at Aston Villa, last season’s beaten finalists.
Iheanacho opened the scoring in the fourth minute, following in to score after Fernando’s header was cleared off the line, and the 19-year-old forward added a second with a 24th-minute penalty.
He completed his hat-trick with 16 minutes remaining, seizing on ex-City defender Micah Richards’s back-pass and surging through to score, before Raheem Sterling completed the scoring.
Manuel Pellegrini’s City are second in the Premier League, face Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League last 16 and will tackle Liverpool in the League Cup final on February 28.
Liverpool are in action later on Saturday when they host West Ham United, who have beaten them twice in the league this season.
Tottenham breezed through, Nacer Chadli scoring twice on his 100th appearance and Eric Dier and Tom Carroll also finding the net in a 4-1 win at third-tier strugglers Colchester United.

– King, Pugh rescue Bournemouth –

“I think that this competition is magic. The opponents always believe that maybe it’s their day, that they can win,” Spurs manger Mauricio Pochettino told BT Sport.
“At times we invited them a little bit to believe in the possibility, but I think it was always under control. We conceded some chances, but it was a fair result.”
Liverpool beat Stoke City on penalties to reach the League Cup semi-finals on Tuesday and Mark Hughes’s men met with fresh cup disappointment four days later as they went down 1-0 at Crystal Palace.
Wilfried Zaha notched the game’s only goal in the 17th minute at Selhurst Park, taking Palace into round five for the second season running.
Gary Roberts put Portsmouth, now languishing in the fourth tier, within sight of a major upset when he scored in the 43rd minute of their meeting with south-coast rivals Bournemouth.
But Josh King equalised for Eddie Howe’s side with a 71st-minute header before Marc Pugh completed a 2-1 win.
Saido Berahino’s brace was not enough for West Brom, who drew 2-2 with Peterborough, but Odion Ighalo’s late strike earned Watford a 1-0 victory at Championship representatives Nottingham Forest.
Fourth-tier Oxford United could not repeat their third-round win over Swansea City, losing 3-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers, but third-division Shrewsbury Town stunned Championship side Sheffield Wednesday 3-2.
Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink’s quest to repeat his 2009 FA Cup triumph with the west London club continues on Sunday when his team visit second-tier Milton Keynes Dons.
Manchester United were the first team to book a place in the last 16 after winning 3-1 at Championship promotion-chasers Derby County on Friday, with Wayne Rooney, Daley Blind and Juan Mata scoring.

Photo: Update on the young boy whose eyes were removed by ritualists in Kaduna

Remember the 3year old little boy named Abubakar Usman whose eyes were removed by some ritualists in Kaduna last week? Read story here. The boy's father, Usman Isa, says doctors at the Ahmadu Bello University have performed an operation on the little boy. According to Isa who spoke with Daily Trust, the doctors said the ritualists removed everything in the boys eyes and that there was no hope of him seeing again except by a miracle.

“The Kaduna hospital has referred us back to ABUTH. Doctors have conducted surgery yesterday. From what they told us, the perpetrators have removed everything that has to do with the eyes, which would make fixing them difficult. However, doctors said that they would review the operation to see the outcome, hoping they can fix artificial ones.”
He said the doctors said the artificial eyes would be fixed just to fill the holes, but not for the young boy to see. “Except if Allah performs a miracle,” he sobbed.
Meanwhile the grandmother of little Usman, Malama Hadiza Usman, narrated how she got to know that hergrandson's eyes had been removed by ritualists while he was on his way to an evening Islamiyya class.

In tears, Malama Hadiza told Daily Trust that she would never forget the incident for the rest of her life. “I’d given him N5 to buy sweets on his way, on Sunday, January 24. He left the house with his brother Umar, but on their way they were intercepted by yet-to-be identified men who took him to an uncompleted building and gouged his eyes out.”
At the hospital, little Abubakar was telling those around him to open his eyes to enable him see his mother and grandmother. “Open my eyes, I want to see Mama. Mama, where are you? Where’s Grandma?” he kept wailing.

Chelsea sign USA defender Miazga

Chelsea have signed United States defender Matt Miazga from New York Red Bulls, the English Premier League champions announced on Saturday.
Miazga agreed a four and a half year contract with the west London club as they look to the future at their problematic centre-back position.
With John Terry in the twilight of his career and Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma both prone to inconsistent form, Chelsea’s defence has been far from impregnable and Miazga could provide the answer if he continues his rapid development.
“I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, a world-famous club with a reputation for major success,” Miazga told Chelsea’s website.
“I am delighted to be in the Premier League, the best league in the world, and can’t wait to meet my team-mates and get going.
“I am still at the beginning of my career but I believe this is the place to develop and learn from some of the best players in the world.”
The New Jersey-born 20-year-old joined the Red Bulls Academy in 2009 and made his debut for the Major League Soccer outfit aged 18.
In the 2015 season, he helped the Red Bulls finish with the best regular season record in North America as they advanced to the Conference Finals.
Miazga made his debut for the US national team in November having represented his country at Under-20 and Under-23 level.

The Nigeria Air Force intensifies search for Chibok girls, others in Sambisa forest

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it is intensifying surveillance to locate the abducted Chibok girls and other captives held by the Boko Haram terrorists in Sambisa forest.
Missing-Chibok-Girls11Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao, the Deputy Theater Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole in charge of Air Component made this known when he briefed newsmen in Maiduguri on Saturday.
Amao said that NAF had also destroyed the terrorists’ leadership hideouts; logistics support bases and infrastructure in its numerous air strikes.
“In continuation of the counter-terrorism operations under Operation Lafiya Dole, the air component has intensified air strikes against the Boko Haram terrorists.
“The air effort was focused on further degrading the terrorists operational capability as well as command and control structure, restricting their freedom of movement and destroying their logistics support base,’’ he said.
He said that the Air Force had successfully carried out 286 operational sorties against the terrorists’ targets between Dec. 25, 2015 and now.
“The air operation also intensified surveillance towards locating the abducted Chibok Girls and other citizens that may have been abducted by the terrorists group.
“The missions conducted led to the destruction of newly discovered terrorists hideouts, enclaves, logistics support bases and infrastructure, especially as they flee Sambisa to nearby locations due to aerial bombardments,’’ he said.
Amao said that the air efforts had further degraded the terrorists and denied them the opportunity to regroup as the case was in the past.
“Notable among the missions during the period was an air strike on Dec. 25, where some Boko Haram leaders and junior commanders who had gathered for a meeting in Sambisa forest were neutralised by a precision strike.
“Post strike assessment indicated that over 15 terrorists were killed,’’ he said.
He said that NAF also conducted several interdiction missions against terrorists’ targets on part of Sambisa forest on different occasion.
“The most significant strike was conducted on Jan. 17, after an intelligence report on the location of a high value terrorists leader taking refuge at a location south of Arra in Sambisa forest.
“Consequently air strikes were conducted to neutralise the target,’’ he said.

Confusion as S-Court sacks 11 NASS members in Anambra

•Sacked Andy Uba, Oduah, Nwoye, Ikpeazu, others write INEC
•Chris Uba, Annie Okonkwo, John Emeka, others to take over
•Anambra Central senatorial re-run aborted?
By Clifford Ndujihe, Henry Umoru,  Vincent Ujumadu &   Ikechukwu Nnochiri
CONFUSION reigned, yesterday, in most parts of Anambra State following the ruling of the Supreme Court sacking all members of the National Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The Supreme Court ruled that the list of nominated candidates in the last election from the Ejike Oguebego-led executive of Anambra State PDP was the only one to be recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The apex court sacked the two remaining senators and 11 members of the House of Representatives representing Anambra. The senators are Andy Uba (Anambra South) and Stella Oduah (Anambra North). The Court of Appeal had earlier sacked Senator Uche Ekwunife (Anambra Central) and ordered a re-run. Delivering judgement, Justice Binta Ogunbiyi held that the lawmakers were illegally foisted on the PDP by an unrecognised state executive of the party.
Ogunbiyi held that the  Oguebego-led executive was the only constitutionally recognised leadership of the PDP to conduct the party’s primaries. In December 2014, the Federal High Court had ruled that the Ejike Oguebego-led executive was the only constitutionally recognised leadership of the party in Anambra that could conduct the PDP primaries.
Despite that ruling, the parallel state executive of the PDP  went ahead to conduct parallel primaries. The National Elect oral Commission (INEC) and the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) supervised the primaries conducted by Oguebego’s executive on December 6 and 7, 2014 . At the end of the exercise, the NWC of the PDP and INEC declared Chris Uba winner for Anambra South, Prince John Emeka for Anambra North and Annie Okonkwo for Anambra Central.
The apex court’s decision prematurely terminated the tenure of former Aviation Minister Oduah in the Senate. It also quashed the legislative career of Senator Andy Uba, presidential aide to former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Ogunbiyi ruled that the candidates who emerged from the primaries conducted by the Oguebego-led group were the true representatives from the state to occupy the vacant seats.
“The decision of the apex court is done to restore justice and discourage impunity in the polity. The judgement also lays out the proper procedures for selection of political parties legislative candidates,” she held. Chief Chris Uba, who is Senator Andy Uba’s younger brother and Prince John Emeka are expected to take over the seats vacated by Senator Uba and Oduah respectively.
File: National Assembly Complex
File: National Assembly Complex
Regarded as the godfather of Anambra PDP, Chris Uba, known asEselu Uga, played crucial roles in the emergence of Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju and Dr Chris Ngige as governors of Anambra State on the platform of the PDP. He was a prominent figure in Governor Ngige’s abduction saga before the latter was sacked as governor and replaced by Mr Peter Obi of APGA in 2006.
For the House of Representatives, those who will vacate their seats include:  Anayo Nnebe (Awka North and South), Obinna Chidoka (Idemili North and South) Lynda Ikpeazu (Onitsha North and South) Emeka Anohu (Ihiala), Eucharia Azodo (Aguata) Chris Azubogu (Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo), Chukwuka Onyema (Ogbaru), Tony Nwoye (Anambra East and West) and the member for Orumba North and South.
Confusion reign
As soon as information filtered into the state after the judgement, people gathered in groups to discuss the matter, with many people wondering why people who neither campaigned nor spent money during elections should just go to the Senate and House of Representatives to occupy seats. Some of the people argued that the various factions of PDP in the state were guilty of the same offence and wondered why the apex court favoured the Oguebego exco.
Mr. Emanuel Ezeka, a retired civil servant said it would appear that the judiciary is encouraging PDP to factionalize in the state, which encouraged the party to field multiple candidates during elections because members of the party knew that either way the party would be declared winner.
With yesterday’s judgement, the three Uba brothers have made history in Nigeria as they have all, at one time or the other, become senators in the country. The first of the Uba’s, Ugochukwu, went into the senate in a similar situation like what happened yesterday, while his younger brother, Andy was serving a second term before their other brother, Chris was declared a senator for Anambra South, yesterday. For Anambra North, Stella Oduah would vacate the seat for Prince Chief John Emeka.
I remain senator-elect – Annie Okonkwo
Speaking on the issue, yesterday, Senator Annie Okonkwo commended the Supreme Court for restoring all hopes to reaffirm the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and the injured. Senator Okonkwo, recently wrote INEC kicking against the commission’s removal of his name, which had earlier been uploaded on its website as the candidate of the PDP ahead of the 28th March, 2015 Election into the Anambra Central Senatorial District seat in the National Assembly. With yesterday’s ruling, Okonkwo said it was obvious that Victor Umeh petitioned the wrong person, Ekwunife, who is not the candidate of the PDP for the election.
  • We were duly nominated by PDP – Andy Uba, Oduah, others write INEC
Senators and members of the House of Representatives from Anambra State who had their nominations cancelled by the Supreme Court, yesterday, wrote the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC insisting that they were duly nominated by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the 2015 General Election. In a letter dated 29, January, 2016 by the Senators and members of the House of Representatives and made available to Journalists Yesterday in Abuja, they said that after their nominations by the PDP in a letter to INEC, they later contested the Election and were duly returned as elected.
The affected lawmakers are Senators Stella Oduah; Andy Uba; Hon. Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu; Hon. Anayo Nnebe; Hon. Tony Nwoye Okechukwu; Hon. Chris Azubogu; Hon. Chukwuma Onyema; Hon. Obinna Chidoka and Hon. Eucharia Azodo.
