According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, In 2015, 52,404 people died from drug overdoses. 63% percent of those deaths involved an opioid.
More people die from drug overdoses than from guns or car accidents. At the peak of the AIDS epidemic in 1995, 43,115 people in the United States died from the disease.
Furthermore, since 1999, the number of overdoses from prescription opioids like oxycodone and hydrocodone, as well as illicit drugs like heroin, have quadrupled. In fact, heroin now accounts for one in four overdose deaths in the United States.

Briefing newsmen on the arrests in Abuja on Thursday, the Force Spokesman, CSP Jimoh Moshood, said that on March 28, the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) cracked and arrested the notorious suspected criminals who posed as chief of staff to President, Senate President, National Security Adviser to President, Minister of petroleum, Minister of Finance, Minister of Transport, Chief Bola Tinubu, and many other prominent Nigerians. The suspects are identified as:

A Neuroscientist from Iran, Masih Rahmati and his girlfriend Mahsa Mehrdad suffered abuse at the hands of a man who racially abused them and yelled death threats saying 'Trump is in the house'. 32-year-old Wiley Day from Alabama is a lucky man, he somehow survived after he was electrocuted by his phone charger. He sleeps with his cellphone charging in his bed but on one fateful Wednesday night, things went really bad. The charger came lose and a metal dog tag he was wearing got caught up in it, he was jolted out of bed by the electricity coursing through his body.
Wiley managed to rip the necklace off but not before suffering second and third-degree burns to his neck and hands.

Mortuary attendants at the Gakwegori Funeral Home in Kenya were left shocked when a pastor stormed the mortuary to resurrect his dead wife.
Pastor Robinson Karumba of Eagle Wings Prophetic Ministries, arrived at the Gakwegori Funeral Home with his members in the early hours of Wednesday, demanding the body of his wife released to him, Nairobi News reported.
The deceased, Ms. Polly Rosa Ng endo who died following an undisclosed illness on Sunday, was released to his husband, who then took her into a secluded room, laid her naked body on a table and applied anointing oil.

The suspects, Oyewole Oyeleye Olatunji (28), Adeniran Adeyinka Yusuf (29), Samuel Olumide Adeola (29), Israel Adeola (24) and Olorunyemi Savior Imonah (24) were arrested March 13, 2017 during a routine surveillance at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho.

Portrait of late Gay British singer, George Micheal sold for $580k

A portrait of late Gay British singer, George Micheal by artist Damien Hirst has been sold for $580,000 at an auction organised by his former partner, Kenny Goss. The painting called ‘Beautiful Beautiful George Michael’ which was created with household gloss on canvas was sold at the Dallas Contemporary art museum in Dallas, Texas on Friday night.
According to reports, the money raised from the sale of the painting will go to HIV/Aids charity ‘The Goss-Michael Foundation’ founded by Michael and Kenny Goss.
