Emir of Kano denies that he has spent N6bn since ascending his throne in 2014


The Kano State Emirate Council  has denied online reports that the emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has spent N6 billion of the emirate’s fund since he ascended the throne in June 2014.

A report emerged online over the weekend, accusing the Emir of financial recklessness.
The Emir was accused of spending as much as N6 billion since he assumed office three years ago.

The latest episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashian features the most explosive fight ever between Blac Chyna and Rob. The episode was shot earlier in the year, when baby Dream was only one month old.

The fight caused the Kardashian family to advise Rob to end the relationship considering that it was toxic.
Kris Jenner's boyfriend, Cory Gamble explained how if he hadn't gotten to Rob and Chyna's home, things would have got out of hand. The couple got physical as they fought and Corey had to drag Chyna off Rob.

Unidentified gunmen suspected to be from Ikot Offiong in Odukpani LGA of Cross River State attacked indigens of Oku Iboku in Itu local government area of Akwa Ibom state on Friday, April 21.
The victims, mainly women and fishermen were  attacked with guns and machetes.
According to ThisDay, dozens of people were killed on the waterways that serve as boundary between the two sister states Twelve corpses of those murdered have been recovered while many are yet to be seen in the attack.

Pres Buhari’s Chief Security Officer expels Punch reporter from Aso Villa for publishing a story on Buhari's health


The Chief Security Officer to President Buhari, Bashir Abubakar, today expelled the State House correspondent of The Punch newspaper, Olalekan Adetayo, from Aso Rock over a report on the president’s health published in the Sunday edition of the paper.

Bashir who believed the report was an affront on the presidency, seized Adetayo's tag before ordering military officers to escort him to the Press Gallery of the Council Chamber to pick his belongings and then removed from Aso Rock.

Zimbabwean man bags 8months in jail for raping a Donkey


A Zimbabwean man identified as Freedom Nyathi has been jailed for 8 months after he was convicted of having sexual intercourse with a donkey. The 20-years-old who was charged with 'bestiality' recently appeared before the Zvishavane Magistrate Court, where he was sentenced. During the court hearing, Prosecutor Shiela Mpindu told the court that on March 17, Nyathi, was caught abusing the donkey by a man.

Surgeons remove pencil from boy's chest after freak accident almost kills him


A five-year-old boy was reportedly almost killed after a pencil impaled his chest and narrowly missed puncturing a major artery in his heart. The boy, whose name was not revealed, reportedly tripped while holding the pencil when he fell on it. His parents rushed him to Lianjiang People’s Hospital near their home in South China’s Guangdong Province before medics advised that he be transferred to Central People’s Hospital of Zhanjiang.

The new South African Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula has praised Pastor Tim Omotosho's victims for speaking up. The former Minister of Sports stated this following the arrest of the Nigerian pastor, who is accused of sexually molesting girls and women.
The 58-year-old controversial evangelist, with churches in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, among others, was arrested at the Port Elizabeth Airport on Thursday for allegedly trafficking more than 30 girls and women who were from various branches of his church to a house in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal where he allegedly sexually exploited them.

He appeared in court on Friday but was denied bail.

Three female suicide bombers were on Monday, April 24, intercepted in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The suicide bombers had attempted to enter Mamanti village Jere local government area. One of the bombers detonated her bomb which claimed her life but the other two were shot dead while trying to flee.

The Christian Association of Nigeria in South Africa has condemned Pastor Tim Omotoso who is being accused of sexually exploiting at least 30 girls.

The association's Archbishop Benson Uwha said they are aware that not all Nigerian men necessarily have good intentions, but pointed out that some South African pastors are also accused of exploiting their congregants.

Scores feared dead in accident in Abia state


A fatal accident that occured over the weekend on the Ikot-Ekpene-Aba Expressway in Aba, Abia state, led to the death of many and several others injured. The accident, which involved a truck, a couple of tricylces, a commercial bus and a private owned car, was reportedly caused by the truck.
According to witnesses, the truck, heavily loaded with chippings, was speeding as it descended the Ogbor Hill Bridge, when it lost control and crashed into several vehicles and pedestrians. The bus and tricycles popularly called Keke Napep were loading passengers when the truch hit them, sending them through the rail of the bridge, and into the water below.

The other two are sticking to the schedule, but Whitson, the commander, was just extended by three months, taking advantage of an empty seat when Russia decided to reduce its crew by one.

Woman poses as medical student at Denver hospital to treat patients


A woman from the University of Colorado Denver, Vanessa Loznik, posed as a medical student and had unauthorized access to patients at Denver Health Medical Center, the hospital said Friday. Hospital officials did not say how long Loznik had unauthorized access while doing hands-on procedures on patients.
Denver Health has pulled all student and learner badges until the credentials of those who have them can be reverified. Anyone without a hospital badge in a patient area or anyone exhibiting "out of the ordinary behavior" will be challenged, the hospital said.

Gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, has weighed in the welcome Quest got, saying it is hypocritical for Nigerians to treat Richard Quest, an openly gay man, as a hero, whereas gay Nigerians get lynched and molested.

California Police arrest 2 groups in fresh Coachella phone thefts


California Police have arrested two groups for stealing more than 40 cell phones, cash and credit cards at the on the ongoing Coachella Music & Arts Festival at the Southern California desert.
The arrest comes after a New York man identified as Reinaldo De Jesus Henao, was arrested at the Coachella festival with more than 100 cell phones in his backpack on April 14.
The two groups who were arrested on Saturday had multiple phones on them when they were caught.

Lagos State Government seals off Tony Rapu’s church


The Lagos State Government has allegedly approved the sealing of a Lekki-based Church, christened ‘The Dome’ in Lekki Phase 1, for violating building regulations. The church which is headed by popular pastor, Dr. Tony Rapu. According to a statement by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Anifowoshe Abiola, the owners of the church contravened the Lagos State Regional and Urban Planning Law 2010 by building without title documents and necessary building permits.

One dead, one in coma, several injured following accident


Two accidents on Oshodi-Apapa Expressway Sunday led to the death of a driver while several were injured, one of whom is presently in a coma. The first crash which occurred at Ibalex Bus Stop, Ilasmaja between the early hours of 4 and 5 a.m. was as a result of a collision between a gravel-laden truck and a trailer carrying oil, while the second accident was between a Volkswagen commercial bus and a truck at the exact same spot.
